HELENA - A new generation of Montana nurses met for a convention in Helena on Saturday.
The Montana Student Nurses Association, a 66-year-old organization, held their annual convention at the Gateway center.
The organization and the convention aim to recruit students to nursing and help prepare current nursing students for the transition to professional life from school.
The Montana Student Nurses Association has local chapters at most colleges and universities across the state.
Current MSNA secretary, Elizabeth Barnes, says her experience with the organization has been invaluable.
"It turned out to be the absolute best decision I've made in nursing school-I absolutely love it, you get so much leadership experience. You feel more prepared to be a nurse. Just more excited and drive and passion for your future career," said Barnes, a nursing student at Montana State University-Bozeman.
