FLORENCE - A captive white tailed deer attacked a Florence woman on Tuesday morning, doing enough damage to send the victim to the hospital.
A woman was keeping an approximately five-year-old buck at her home, and when she went into its pen, the deer attacked her.
"Today [Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks] game wardens went and investigated the scene, collected a lot of evidence. Our concern is with the woman, and her well-being, and that's where our minds are right now," FWP's Vivaca Crowser said.
"We also took the deer and it was euthanized by a local vet, and it's on its way to Bozeman to the wildlife lab for further investigation," she added.
The woman was taken by ambulance to a Missoula hospital, but the extent of her injuries hasn't been released yet.
Crowser also point out that state law says it's illegal to possess live game animals.
