FWP to auction horn, antlers

MISSOULA- Do you want to own Montana wildlife without hunting for it? Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks will auction non-perishable wildlife parts at the FWP Region 2 office in Missoula on Saturday, July 30. The proceeds go into the state FWP account.

Items auctioned to the highest bidder include bighorn sheep horns and one full size sheep cape, deer and elk antlers, and a few specialty items. FWP collected most bighorn sheep items from animals that died in the 2009-2010 pneumonia outbreaks in western Montana wild sheep populations. Items up for bid also include those collected through confiscations from criminal cases, road kills, management actions or parts found in the wild.

You can view auction items beginning at 9 a.m. with bidding to follow at 10 a.m. at the FWP office in Missoula (3201 Spurgin Road). FWP already donated numerous items to schools, museums and for other educational purposes.
