MISSOULA- Garden City Harvest has been visiting low income senior citizen housing developments to sell local and organic produce at a fraction of the store price since 2008.
The market is subsidized through grants and Garden City Harvest and each week during the summer, the Garden City Harvest red truck pulls up to the Silvercrest Community and sets up a table full of bright produce.
Bundles of vegetables are sold for 50 cents or less. Darryl Handy says he looks forward to Mobile Market day an event that is truly unique to Missoula.
"I've never seen anything like this anywhere else. I've lived all over the United States. Nice that they would bring it to us. Missoula has a lot of wonderful things that you won't find anywhere else," said Handy.
