WEST GLACIER- Glacier National Park officials say more than 490,000 people have visited the park so far this year, marking an increase of 14% when compared to the first six months of 2011.
The National Park Service Public Use Statistics Office also reports the number of visitors in June was up nearly 18% compared to June 2011.
Officials say this year's increase is probably thanks to Going-to-the-Sun road's relatively early opening on June 18th. The road didn't open last year until July 13th.
