"Grandma" prepares for annual Montana City auction to help kids

MONTANA CITY - Known simply as "Grandma" to most people, LaVonne Hohn is preparing for the 15th year of her annual auction to help local school children in and around Montana City.

Baskets full of goodies are auctioned off and the funds go to help school kids in the community.

This years' event will be held at the Jackson Creek Saloon on Saturday, December 15th, beginning at 3 p.m.

This year's Christmas For Kids auction will include a 1995 Mercury Grand Marquis which was donated by Lithia.

There is also an autographed football helmet by Carroll College Saints running back Chance Demarais who just surpassed the all-time career record in yards rushing.

Hohn says people should come early as items go fast, and the auction typically raises about $10,000 for the charity.
