MISSOULA - This week's One Class at a Time Grant is letting students at Hawthorne Elementary School enjoy dozens of new audio books on their MP3 players.

School Librarian Michele Nokleby says the grant money will allow her to purchase at least twenty-five new titles for her students.

Many of the titles are newer books and she can make numerous copies for her students, so everyone in the school will get a chance to listen along.

C.E.O. and President of Allegiance Benefit Plan Management Dirk Visser and K.P.A.X. General Manager Bob Hermes presented the check to Mrs. Nokleby.

She says the audio books won't replace the printed books in the library, but will help her students learn how to become strong readers, "when paired with a print version of the book, hearing the audio version is really powerful, to help them build fluency and as a model for reading aloud and develops their vocabulary. They're good and they're a lot of fun."
