Boone, North Carolina - The Montana Grizzlies and Appalachian State put on quite the show at Kidd Brewer Stadium Saturday afternoon, but the end result did not go in the favor of the maroon and silver.

Montana did manage to take an early 7-0, but quickly saw that advantage turn in to a 21-7 deficit. However, the Griz remained resilient and were able to tie the Mountaineers at 21 going into the break.

After a scoreless third, the two perennial FCS powers exchanged blows again early in the 4th, but Montana missed their PAT to stay behind 28-27.

Then after another App State score made it 35-27, the Grizzlies failed to catch the Mountaineers after 4 UM turnovers sealed their doom.

Final score: Appalachian State 35, Montana 27
