MISSOULA- Eastern Washington freshman quarterback Vernon Adams completed only 17 of 30 passes through 3 ½ quarters with an interception. But he ended eight of 11, and threw the two touchdowns to bring the Eagles back.
The Grizzly secondary feels good about much of their performance this year, but they know they need to start playing up to their ability on every snap.
"We look forward to going against guys like that, because it's a big challenge to us. And for the most part we were able to do some things at times to kind of bottle them up. We play really good defense. And then every once in a while we'll give up that long play. And that's something we just need to work on. And we just, you know, got to go out and make that play," safety Bo Tully said.
The next challenge for the Grizzlies will be the 1-3 Northern Colorado Bears. Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m. on Saturday in Greeley.
