The Flathead County Health Department staff  are encouraging everyone to get vaccinated for H1N1 during the holiday season, including people visiting from out of town.

The Health Department just got another 2,700 doses of the vaccine and will hold H1N1 and seasonal flu vaccinations Monday and Wednesday in Kalispell at the Health Department.

A 63-year old man from the Flathead Valley died last week from complications of H1N1. He had no known underlying medical conditions.

Flathead County will send back 300 doses of recalled infant vaccine. None of it was administered but was recalled because it wasn't strong enough.

The H1N1 vaccination is free of charge according to Community Health Services Director Jody White.

"We're absolutely recommending that people get both their seasonal and H1N1 vaccine as soon as they're able to because it takes about two weeks for it to be fully effective, and we have vaccine able for all ages, 6 months and over, and we encourage you especially if you have people visiting from other areas that are not able to get vaccine there yet to have them come on in to our clinics."

The clinics will be held in Kalispell on Monday, December 21st from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, December 23rd from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.
