PARADISE - Two people were killed in a head-on crash which happened on Montana Highway 135 near Paradise.
The Montana Highway Patrol reports that the accident happened just before 5:30 p.m. Saturday at mile marker 18.
A 78-year-old man was driving an Oldsmobile Cutlass with a 60-year-old female passenger when the car swerved off the highway. The car then traveled back onto the highway and crossed over into the other lane of traffic, hitting a GMC Yukon head-on.
The couple, from Columbia Falls was pronounced dead on scene. The other three occupants of the GMC were taken to St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula and the extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.
The MHP is still looking into whether or not speed or alcohol played a role in the crash. It is also unknown if anyone was wearing seatbelts.
