MISSOULA- A horse was found shot to death on Mullan Road in Missoula and investigators believe it was either killed by a gun or a bow and arrow. Officials say the shooting happened sometime late last week in the 6400 block of Mullan Road.
The Missoula County Sheriff's Office took the report on Saturday, and the horse's owners say they believe the animal had been dead for about a day when they discovered it. The horse was found in a pasture with a wound to the neck.
The owners told investigators they've had numerous problems with hunters coming onto their property. Investigators say it's not known yet if the horse was shot with a gun or with a bow and arrow, and they're not sure if the shooting was intentional.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Crimestoppers at (406) 721.4444.
