MISSOULA - A taekwondo tournament filled the University of Montana Adams Center with kicking and screaming on Saturday.
The Zootown Kickdown featured taekwondo and martial art masters striving to make it on the podium - and for the first time in a long time, the kick down pulled together more than 340 competitors.
The day included events like free sparring matches and board breaking. Tournament Director Jake Parker thinks the sport is a good way for kids to dive in and help them face their fears.
"When I think about Missoula as a community - the kids that we are building in our taekwondo schools - this is to build them up and to help them develop more self-confidence and more self esteem."
The event featured competitors from Montana, Washington, Utah and Idaho.
