MISSOULA - The start of hunting season has the Missoula County Sheriff's Office is warning people to watch for former militia leader David Burgert, who's still on the run.
The Sheriff's Office says since people will be spending more time in the woods, they need to be on the lookout for Burgert.
Burgert is facing two counts of attempted murder for a June shootout with Missoula deputies.
Back on June 12th, deputies stopped Burgert after a suspicious vehicle report was made to 911. Burgert then led them on a pursuit, which ended on Wagon Mountain Road, off of Graves Creek. Burgert fired multiple rounds at the pursuing deputies, before taking off on foot.
Burgert is being described as 6'2" and weighs 230 pounds. He's considered armed and extremely dangerous. If you see him, don't approach him and call 911.
