Missoula woman reported missing found safe

MISSOULA - A woman who was reported missing has been found according to the Missoula Police Department.

Missoula Detective Sergeant Travis Welsh says that Maria Schlienger contacted the MPD after discovering she'd been reported missing. He added that Schlienger has also spoken with her mother and that the report has been cancelled.

The 22-year-old told her mother back in May that she was planning to hitchhike to either Florida or Nevada, but the family did not hear from her again until recently.


MISSOULA - Authorities in Missoula are looking for a woman who hasn't been seen or heard from since May.

Maria Schlienger, 22, told her mother she was going to hitchhike to Florida or Nevada back in May, but her family has not heard from her since then.

Schlienger is described as being 5'7" tall, weighing around 155 pounds with black hair and hazel eyes.

When police checked her last known address, the residents say she hasn't lived there in months. Anyone with information about Schlienger's whereabouts is asked to call Crimestoppers at (406) 721.4444.
