HELENA - Montana Superintendent of Public Instruction Denise Juneau has accepted an appointment to serve on the steering committee for the Education Commission of the States, the only nationwide, nonpartisan, interstate compact devoted to education.
ECS helps governors, legislators, state education officials and others identify, develop and implement public policies to improve student learning at all levels.
"I am honored to be selected for this position and look forward to working with America's leaders on important education issues facing each state and the nation as a whole," said Juneau. "I look forward to advocating for kids and teachers at a national level and sharing what's working in Montana public school classrooms to improve education on a national level."
In addition to her appointment to the ECS, Juneau serves on the on the Executive Board of Directors for the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education.
