KALISPELL - A Kalispell woman is challenging her conviction after she was sentenced last year for two counts of deliberate homicide.

Justine Winters, 19, filed an appeal for post-conviction relief on Monday alleging in court papers that Flathead County Attorney Ed Corrigan failed to disclose evidence to the defense. The document also accuses Winters' defense attorneys of not providing "effective assistance of counsel."

Winters was sentenced to 15 years in prison for killing a 35-year-old woman and her son in 2009, after police say she intentionally ran her car head-on into theirs.

Winters is requesting the Court appoint counsel, set an evidentiary hearing and grant post-conviction relief.

A status conference hearing is set for next month.
