KALISPELL- A woman pleaded not guilty Thursday to a negligent homicide charge for reportedly killing her passenger in an alcohol-related car crash.

Mindy Brist, 33, appeared in Flathead County District Court.

The Montana Highway Patrol says in February, Brist was under the influence of alcohol when she rolled her SUV, which came to a rest on the passenger side on Highway 93 north of Somers.

The crash killed 28-year-old Timothy Attard.

On July 13, the Flathead County Attorney's Office filed the felony charge against Brist, who is now scheduled for a Jan. 7 jury trial term.

She faces 20 years in prison if convicted on the charge.
