MISSOULA -Students are learning about healthy living at St. Patrick Hospital Thursday and Friday at the CATCH fair.

CATCH stands for Coordinated Approach to Child Health and it's a national program for kindergarten through eighth graders.

St. Patrick Hospital invited third and fourth graders from all nearby schools to participate in the fair.

The event is giving children a hands-on approach to health through several stations like Germ Hunters, where instructors use a black light to show students how easily germs are spread.

Another station, Buckle Your Brain, teaches kids the importance of wearing helmets while "Tackle Tobacco" shows students healthy lungs next to a set of a smoker.

CATCH coordinator Lisa Tims said the program encourages kids to take healthy habits home with them.

"There are a lot of area schools within the county that are teaching CATCH and today we ask these classroom to visit St. Patrick Hospital CATCH health fair to help enforce what these children are learning in the classroom," Tims said.

Classes traveled from as far away as Superior and St. Regis to attend the fair.
