SALT LAKE CITY, UT - Larry Krystkowiak may be about to get back in the business of coaching college basketball. The New York Post is reporting the former Montana Grizzly great and Missoula native is up for the head coaching job at the University of Utah. Krystkowiak is currently an assistant coach for the New Jersey Nets.

"He's done a great job for us this year," said Nets coach Avery Johnson. "If something were ever to happen for Larry, we'd hate to lose him."

The Utes recently fired Jim Boylen after four seasons in Salt Lake City. The Deseret News reported that Krystkowiak interviewed for the Utah job in 2007, but then got a promotion from assistant to head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks. The Bucks fired him 100 games later.

As head coach, Krystkowiak guided the Montana Grizzlies to back-to-back appearances in the NCAA Tournament. He left UM with a record of 42-20 over two seasons.
