POLSON- An off-duty Lake County detention officer made his first appearance in court after he allegedly caused a crash last weekend while driving drunk.
The Lake County Sheriff's Office says dispatchers received several calls Saturday night about a crash in the Jette Lake area near Polson.
The person who allegedly caused the crash left the scene, but law enforcement found him later and identified him as Mathew Walker, a Lake County Sheriff's Office detention officer.
The Montana Highway Patrol processed Walker for DUI and cited him with three misdemeanors. Three people taken to the hospital after the crash, but they were treated and released.
The judge released Walker on special court condition and he remains on administrative leave with sheriff's office. He's scheduled to be back in court Nov. 15.
