POLSON- The Lake County Sheriff's Office was called Sunday night to search for a missing 89-year-old Lake County woman who didn't come home from a planned walk.
Lake County dispatch says they received a call from the elderly woman's daughter-in-law on Sunday just before 6 p.m. that the woman didn't return for walk that she takes with her dog.
The daughter-in-law said the dog returned to the home, but the 89-year-old woman was missing.
Dispatchers tells us the woman fell during her walk, became disoriented and had a difficult time finding the trail.
Lake County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue, The Polson Fire Department, with their thermal imaging equipment, and other agencies responded to the area of Grinde Shore Lane in Polson.
The woman was found by other hikers in the area about a 1½ hours later and was given a ride home. She was checked by EMT's on site, which deemed her to be okay after the ordeal.
