RONAN - Several hundred kids from Lake County hope their animal will reign supreme over the competition at the Lake County Fair in Ronan.
The smaller fair started Monday and will wrap up Saturday. It has been around for 80 years and mainly focuses on youth and 4H, and works to teach them about agriculture. Those competing in the fair don't mind its small size.
"You notice all the other fairs have a whole bunch of people and it's really big. The people I see here are the people that I know. And I know what their game is and I know how to compete with them," said 6 year Lake County competitor, Hallie Hovenkotter.
Lake County Fair organizers say the event brings in people from all over the county and helps boost the economy. Thursday at 5:30 p.m., we'll introduce you to some of the birds the fair is famous for.
