MISSOULA- The lightning storm that rolled across Western Montana on Wednesday afternoon and evening sparked several blazes across the Missoula and Bitterroot valleys.
Firefighters believe that a lightning strike sparked a grass fire that broke out near the Missoula International Airport on Wednesday.
All surrounding jurisdictions, as well as airport staff, responded to battle the fire and a helicopter dropped water from above and crews were able to contain the blaze.
