Livingston man killed in weekend car crash identified

LIVINGSTON- Authorities have identified a Livingston man killed in a three-vehicle accident near Livingston. Park County Coroner Al Jenkins says that Lewis Hagen, 71, was killed after his car was sideswiped by another vehicle.

Seven others were injured in the accident that happened Saturday just before 7 p.m. on U.S. Highway 89.

The Montana Highway Patrol says it appears a man fell asleep while driving and drifted into oncoming traffic. As a result of this, he sideswiped Hagen's vehicle and then collided head-on with a suburban driven by a 39-year-old woman with four passengers inside. Hagen had one passenger in his vehicle.

The crash remains under investigation.
