LOLO - Missoula County Rural Initiatives Office officials have been working with landowners in the northern part of Lolo in an effort to replace the current interim zoning rules.
They want to hear from residents in the next coming months to pin down some specifics as the interim zoning for the north Lolo area is set to expire at the end of May.
The zoning was initially adopted in 2008 due to concerns about potential negative impacts of a proposed gravel mining operation in the area.
The newly submitted proposal includes a growth policy amendment and a zoning proposal for a rural special zoning district. Public hearings on the topic are planned for March 16th and April 7th.
