WHITEFISH- Bear managers captured a two-year-old male grizzly bear in the upper Whitefish Lake area last Friday and relocated it to the Cabinet Mountain Range near Libby.

Officials sedated the bear, then, on Saturday, moved it to the Cabinet Mountains to augment the population in that area.

Wildlife managers tell us the bear was an ideal candidate for the transfer because he had no history of conflict with humans and he was very young.

Bear managers say they still plan on moving two more female grizzlies to the area before the end of the year.
