Malmstrom AFB welcomes new wing commander

GREAT FALLS - Malmstrom Air Force Base has a new leader, as Colonel Robert Stanley took the guidon from Colonel Heraldo Brual during a change of command ceremony on Friday morning.

Colonel Brual, who assumed command of the 341st Missile Wing in August 2011, handed over the reins to Colonel Stanley in front of hundreds of airmen, civilians, retirees, and family members.

Stanley is no stranger to Malmstrom, however; he has served as the vice-commander of the missile base for nearly two years.

Prior to arriving at Malmstrom, Stanley served at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado, F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Wyoming, and Vandenberg Air Force Base in California, among other assignments.

Brual is moving to a job at Air Force Global Strike Command at Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana.

The presiding official for the ceremony was Major General Michael Carey, commander of the 20th Air Force at F.E. Warren AFB.
