Man admits to murdering 3-year-old son near Anaconda

DILLON - A Washington state man pleaded guilty Tuesday morning to killing his 3-year-old son near Anaconda back in July.

Jeremy Brent Cramer, 38, of Lacey, Wash., appeared Tuesday in District Court in Dillon to change his plea to deliberate homicide.

"My son is no longer here, I just want to get this over," said Cramer.

Cramer is accused of killing his son - Broderick Daniel Cramer - by blunt and sharp force trauma.

Investigators found the 3-year-old's body on July 9, 2013, off Mill Creek Highway, about five miles southeast of Anaconda. Brody was just days away from his fourth birthday.

Charging documents say Cramer admitted to killing the child in a recorded phone call to his father from the Anaconda jail, in which he sounded irrational and confused.

Cramer is said to have taken Brody from his home in Lacey, Washington where the boy lived with his mother on July 8.

Later that night, officers were called to a gas station in Anaconda where Cramer was seen washing blood off his clothing. He was taken into custody.

After questioning Cramer about the whereabouts of his son and issuing a bulletin on his pickup truck, law officers located the vehicle at the turnoff to the Mill Creek Highway. An empty child seat was found inside the truck. Brody's body was later found.

Investigators found a fixed blade knife and a large rock with blood and hair on it at the scene. Montana Crime Lab determined that Brody's cause of death was caused by homicidal violence with blunt force and sharp force trauma.

Court documents also say that Cramer is a previous methamphetamine user. An empty prescription container for Amphetamine Salts, a generic substitute for Adderall, was found in Cramer's possession.
