MISSOULA- A man was arrested early Sunday morning for attempting to break into a house in central Missoula.

Missoula Police Sergeant Collin Rose says the alleged incident happened around 4:15 a.m. in the 400 block of Roosevelt Street when Christopher Hays, 28, of Missoula allegedly broke a window while trying to enter the residence.

The commotion awoke the homeowner who followed Hays when he left the scene. The homeowner then alerted Missoula Police to his whereabouts, and after questioning Hays admitted to taking ecstasy.

He was arrested for criminal mischief and attempted burglary.
