MISSOULA- A Missoula man is facing charges for allegedly pointing a loaded gun at bystanders during a fight outside of a downtown bar.
The incident happened just before 2 a.m. Sunday near the Central Bar on Broadway with prosecutors saying Joel Brooks Thornton was in a fight with another man and during the altercation, Thornton pulled out a revolver and tried pointing it at people when another man intervened and disarmed him.
Thornton is a convicted felon who cannot have firearms in his possession. Prosecutors also said Thornton has numerous probation violations. The judge set his bail at $75,000.
