Man charged in allegedly raping 2 runaway Great Falls teens

GREAT FALLS- A man faces felony charges in Great Falls after allegedly raping two runaway girls. Scott Harper, 42, claims that he was only helping to keep the girls safe.

Harper is accused of forcing two teenagers to have sex with him at his house.

It was last Tuesday when his victims were reported as runaways from a Great Falls group home. The next day, the 16 year old girl returned to the home and said she had been sexually assaulted. She told authorities that the 15-year-old girl was still at Harper's home, where they stayed the night before.

When interviewed by police, both girls showed officers bite marks they said were left by Harper. The teens also said that they were given alcohol and marijuana.

Police said it's possible other drugs were involved considering the older victim's difficulty remembering details.

Harper faces eight charges including sexual intercourse without consent and endangering the welfare of children.
He admitted to giving the girls substances and said he was keeping them at his house for their own safety. His bond was set at $50,000.
