FAIRFIELD- Great Falls resident Martin Lau is being held at the Teton County Jail, charged with deliberate homicide in the shooting death of a Fairfield man on Saturday.

Authorities are not releasing the name of the victim at this time, but the Teton County Sheriff says he was 52 years old.

The shooting happened at 1341 County Line Road. Officials were dispatched to the residence just after 5:30 p.m. on Saturday after a man was reportedly shot in the face and neck.

The Sheriff tells us the incident started out as a conflict between the shooter and victim, but have not released any other details at this point.

The victim was being transported to Benefis hospital in Great Falls for his injuries, but died en route.

Lau is expected to make his initial court appearance on Monday afternoon.
