MISSOULA - A man died after losing control his Subaru that he was driving along Interstate 90 Monday evening.

Montana Highway Patrol trooper Chad Dever said the driver was headed west on the interstate near mile marker 100 around 5:30 p.m. when witnesses saw him fishtail before losing control, crossing the median and rolling across the eastbound lanes.

The Subaru then went airborne over the guardrail and came to a rest against a sign. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

Dever said it appears the man, in his 30s, was wearing a seat belt. He died of injuries in the hospital. The Montana Highway Patrol is still working on identification of the man though they say the car he drove had Missoula area license plates.

A toxicology test is on its way to the State Crime Lab in Missoula.
