MISSOULA - A man is facing felony and misdemeanor charges for beating his female partner.

James Gray is being charged with two counts of felony aggravated assault and two misdemeanor counts of partner or family member assault.

Prosecutors say Missoula Police responded to Gray's residence on Saturday after a neighbor got a text message from a victim to call 911.

When officers arrived, Gray told them the victim wasn't home and he wouldn't let police into the house.

Officers ended up taking Gray into custody because he was being confrontational.

The victim was inside the entire time.

She was taken to the hospital because she was bleeding from the ears and had sustained hearing loss due to the blood behind her ears.

She also had retinal hemorrhaging in her eyes and had cuts and scrapes on her body.

Prosecutors say Gray also chocked the victim until she blacked out.

He's in jail on $150,000 bail.
