KALISPELL - A man who reportedly shot at his son's face pleaded not guilty in Flathead County District Court today.

James Gonzales, 46, of Kalispell, is charged with aggravated assault and assault with a weapon, both felonies.

On July 12, deputies responded to 141 Deerfoot Trail near Creston, where Gonzales' son allegedly reported that his father shot him in the face from 20 to 30 yards away.

Deputies noticed a red mark on the victim's face, which resembled a bullet ricochet.
