Man with gun triggers brief standoff near Bozeman

BOZEMAN- A man is in custody following a suicide threat Thursday morning at the Town Pump at Four Corners.

The man called dispatch, saying he was going to kill himself and any deputy who responded, Gallatin County Sheriff Brian Gootkin said.

Deputies were able to make contact with the man and he was taken into custody. He was found inside a car with a seven millimeter handgun. He was taken to Bozeman Deaconess Hospital. His name is not being released at this time.

No one suffered any injuries during the incident, Gootkin said.

The sheriff's department, Montana Highway Patrol, a SWAT team and Central Valley Fire Department were all on scene.
