MISSOULA- Cycling enthusiasts had a chance Tuesday night to see three proposals that would connect Missoula and Lolo with a pedestrian trail, which would make it possible to peddle or walk all the way to Hamilton.
Missoula County commissioned a feasibility studying to look at the possibility, and a public meeting was held to discuss the three proposals. Two of them would be parallel to U.S. Highway 93 South while the third would go through the Lower Miller Creek area.
"A connection from Missoula to Hamilton to Lolo to complete the trail system, all the way down to Hamilton, would be a big benefit to recreational cyclists [in] Missoula, Lolo and Hamilton, and the entire region," Bob Wachtel with the Bike Walk Alliance for Missoula said.
Consulting company DJ&A eliminated two other possible routes south of U.S. Highway 93 because of right-of-way and land ownership conflicts.
