MHP identifies woman killed in Troy head-on

TROY- Montana Highway Patrol troopers have released the identity of the Lincoln County woman who was killed when she was caught in a head-on collision near Troy Friday afternoon.

Troopers say 71-year old Mavis Potter of Libby died when the car was riding in collided with a pickup truck several miles west of Troy.

Investigators say the accident happened when 73-year old Henry Lasala tried to turn left off the highway onto a side road, turning directly into the path of Potter's car, which was being driven by her husband.

Lasala and 72-year old Stan Potter were injured as well and taken to St. John's Hospital in Libby for treatment. Mavis Potter died at the hospital later in the evening.

Troopers say everyone in the accident was wearing seatbelts and alcohol wasn't a factor in the crash.
