POLSON - The Mission Mountain Drug Task Force reports they made several drug busts in June.
The task force is a joint effort that includes members from the Flathead Tribal Police, the Polson Police Department and the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
Polson Assistant Police Chief Clinton Cottle says that task force "was formed to help combat the growing illegal narcotics problems on the greater Flathead Reservation and Lake County."
Cottle says four search warrants at homes in Polson netted methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and that agents also helped Adult Probation with a search of a probationer's residence in Polson.
Several people now "may be facing various felony drug charges as a result of the warrants served," Cottle said in a news release.
Anyone with information about drug activity is being urged to contact Lake County Dispatch at (406) 883.7301 or Flathead Tribal Dispatch at (406) 675.4700.
Cottle added that "assistance from community members has proven to be a very effective way to combat the local drug problem."
