MISSOULA - Missoula's cell phone ban goes into full effect later this week, and police will begin ticketing drivers who continue to use cell phones while driving.
Drivers who are caught not using hands-free devices while behind the will be fined at least $100, with the maximum fine going all the way up to $500.
"Our plan is to take steps if necessary to use unmarked vehicles for example we certainly will do some stationary deployment," Missoula Police Chief Mark Muir said.
Muir added that signs warning of the cell phone ban at several spots across the Garden City, and there are other outreach efforts being used to help let people know about the new law.
