MISSOULA- There's a new twist to a disturbing story we told you about on Monday about an accused drunk driver.

Missoula Police say that Jana Lorenz was drunk driving with two of her children in her vehicle when she lost control and crashed into a house on Russell Street Sunday night.

The incident happened shortly after Lorenz picked up her 6-year-old son from Lil Griz Cubhouse daycare.

The owner of the daycare, Erica Lawson said her employee suspected Lorenz was drunk and told her that if she drove with the child, she would call 911.

"The woman agreed to have a cab called for her [and] a cab arrived which the family got into and left. The employee than notified me by phone of the incident and while she was on the phone with me, she realized the woman had returned and gotten into her car and was driving away. I told my employee to hang up and dial 911," Lawson recalled.

Police say that shortly after driving off, Lorenz ran a flashing red light and hit the house near Sentinel High School.

Lawson says she would like to see a law in place that would allow a person to keep a child from a parent if they felt the child was in danger.

"I would love to see something put into place where we could do a little bit more to protect these children when their parents show up in the state that they shouldn't be in."

Lorenz faces four charges including two felony counts for endangering her two children.
