MISSOULA- The economy may not be booming in western Montana, but the beer industry sure seems to be thriving as hundreds made it over to the second annual Brewfest Saturday evening.

"It's the middle of winter, towards the end of winter and you haven't gone out much and why not. You're helping out MDA so it's always fun to have a party in Missoula," said BrewFest volunteer Pete Aklestad.

Those at Brewfest told us you can't put a price on having a good time with friends and family. Some people brought their kids and made the event about more than drinking. Live music and food complimented the 36 beers on tap.

Aklestad said he thinks Missoula residents like the opportunity to go out for a beer because it's a fairly cheap way to have fun.

"It's not that expensive. It's not like going out and buying a really expensive bottle of liquor or a really expensive bottle of wine and coming down here," he said, "you are really tasting a lot of different beers. They are only $1 to taste a good beer so it's pretty affordable."

Money raised at the event went to the Missoula Downtown Association.
