MISSOULA - Missoula health authorities are continuing to track a fairly high number of flu cases, including nearly 30 people who've been hospitalized because of this winter's influenza outbreak.
The Missoula City-County Health Department reports the most recent count showed 189-people had tested positive for flu, and 27 people have been serious enough to require hospitalization.
While vaccine continues to be available, there have been a few supply problems. The Health Department's Cindy Hotchkiss says while some providers have been running out of the vaccine in the past week or so, or have seen temporary supplies depleted, there are no shortages of flu vaccine in Missoula.
Hotchkiss says people should check with their health provider, or come in to the health department if they need a shot.
Hotchkiss added that outside of being vaccinated, the best advice to keep from spreading the flu remains the same. She says the health department continues to encourage people to wash their hands, cover their coughs and stay home if they're sick.
