MISSOULA- The city of Missoula celebrated a beautiful Autumn day with a local take on a foreign festival, with fans of brews, brats and balladry heading down to Ogren Park Saturday afternoon for an Oktoberfest celebration.
Volunteers served up around 20 different local and regional microbrews as well as some authentic German cuisine, and local bands Cold Hard Cash, Reverend Slanky and Miller Creek provided entertainment.
Volunteer Kathy Pritchard was just in Munich for the real Oktoberfest and told us she had to take some steps in order to not stick out amongst a crowd of 10,000 festival goers.
"The first night I went I was in my street clothes and realized that I should go out and purchase this which they call a Dirndl and so I did at the department store there and wore it the next day and it was... It's very fun," she said.
The proceeds from the event will benefit the Friends of the Civic Stadium.
