MISSOULA- Sometimes prosperity takes a toll, just ask the Missoula Maulers. The team is off to the best start in franchise history, but the Maulers have just lost two of their top-five scorers.

George Pagonis received a promotion to Wichita Falls of the North American Hockey League after racking up 16 goals and 18 assists in 26 games. He's the team's 3rd-leading scorer.

Zach Paisley is also moving up and will play for Minot, also of the NAHL. Paisley had 18 goals and 11 assists as Missoula's fifth leading scorer.

We talked with Missoula Maulers coach Marcus Baxter who says he's working on replacing Pagonis and Paisley, but until that happens, he says the current players on the roster all have to step up.

The Maulers will be back in action on Friday hosting the first place Helena Bighorns at Glacier Ice Rink in a battle for the top spot in the AWHL standings.

Friday will also feature a food drive with proceeds going to help the Montana Food Bank.
