MISSOULA - They've already been decorated as repeat award broadcast award winners in Montana. Now one of Missoula's most popular morning radio teams are in the running for a coveted national award.
Chris Wolfe and Brian Lee have been lighting up the airwaves on Z100 Classic Rock every morning for the past eight years. Along the way they've been named as the Montana Broadcasters of the Year for six of those years, recognition of the effort they put into their show every day.
Now the pair has been named as finalists for the National Association of Broadcasters' Marconi Award for Small Market Personalities of the Year. The Marconis are one of the radio industries most prestigious awards, established in 1989 and named after the "founding father" of radio.
Cherry Creek Radio General Manager Bob Breck says the "national recognition of their talent" on the Z-100 Morning Show is "long overdue."
Chris and Brian will be up against four other morning show teams from Wisconsin, Missouri, Nebraska and Tennessee when the awards are announced at the NAB Radio Show in Orlando, Florida in September.
