Missoula sees record snowfall

MISSOULA- This week's winter storm keeps dropping snow all across western Montana with several feet expected to fall in the mountains.

But the valleys are also seeing some white stuff from this January storm with the National Weather Service office in Missoula reporting that 8.6" of snow fell at Missoula International Airport on Wednesday, breaking the record of 6.4" set back in 1970.

Here are some of the snow totals being reported across western Montana by the National Weather Service.

  • Lolo: 13.0" (as of late Wednesday)
  • Alberton: 11.0" (as of late Wednesday)
  • St. Regis 12.0" (as of late Wednesday)
  • Corvallis: 6.0" at the football field (as of Wednesday afternoon)
  • Stevensville: 12.0" (as of Wednesday evening)
  • Hamilton: 11.0", with 7" having fallen on Wednesday
