MISSOULA- A local teenager will pit her skills up against some of the country's brightest students this week at the National Geography Bee.
Saint Joseph School eighth grade student Rosie McCormack beat out 100 other students to win the Montana State Geography Bee back in March, which qualified her for the national competition.
She is now one of only 54 students remaining in the field which was cut down from more than five million contestants.
The National Geography Bee starts Tuesday in Washington, DC and the top 10 finalists will compete in Thursday's final round that will by moderated by Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek.
The finals will be taped for a later airing on the National Geographic Channel.
