MISSOULA - Missoula fire officials say that they are no longer investigating the controlled burn that grew out of control Saturday afternoon on Spanish Peaks Drive.

Missoula City Fire and the Missoula Rural Fire District all responded to the burn on 451 Spanish Peaks Drive. Officials tell us the Spanish Peaks resident was burning debris in his front yard, but was unable to contain the fire once it spread and it grew to an acre in size.

Firefighters knocked out the flames standing two to three feel high in what's now been ruled and accident. There' still no word on whether or not the resident had a burning permit.
